1. What positives were you able to take away from St Petes?
“There were many positives, the way the team rebounded from Sebring was fantastic, as was the performance of the whole package. To get fastest lap of the race was very satisfying and both cars had the speed to win. It fills us with confidence for the rest of the year.”
2. Long Beach is a very unique track. Are there any secrets to a quick lap there?
“There are a couple, but none I'd like to share! You really have to have a car that works on the many different surfaces and if you have that you're in good shape. It's strange for a street circuit in that you don't just pile on every piece of downforce you have, you have to compromise the aero level as there is a couple of long straights and many tight corners.”
3. Are the LMP2 cars likely to be any closer to the LMP1 cars at Long Beach?
“I don't think so, I think it will be worse than St Pete as the new regulations have opened a large gap in the performance of the two classes and the long straights will play into the LMP1 cars hands.”
4. Did you follow the Barcelona race whilst at St Petes at all? What did you make of the result?
“I was delighted to see the Lola car win in LMP2 as they have some very stiff competition from the Zytek. I was disappointed for the RML guys as they were looking good for a long time and I think they're a great team.”
5. How did you spend the Easter weekend?
“I had a very quite, fun weekend with my brother, sister in law and her family as I stayed out between St Pete and Long Beach to save the long haul out to the West Coast.”
